그녀의 실제 이름은 Nguyen Thu`y Trang 이고, 미국식 이름은 Trish 라고 한다..

Trish는 베트남 사이공에서 1980년 12월 15일 태어 났으면..Trish가 어릴때 그녀의 가족 모두가 미국으로 이민 오게 되면서 아마도 이때부터 미국식 이름을 갖게 된 것 같다.

대부분 가수들이 집안으로부터 음악적인 재능을 이어 받아 음악인으로서 성장을 도움 받게 되지만..그녀는 그렇지 않았던 것 같다. 그녀의 음악적인 재능은 어릴때부터 그녀의 언니와 함께 피아노를 배우기 시작하면서 부터였다고 한다.

아무튼 그녀가 어떻게 음악적인 느낌을 경험하게 되고..접하게 된 것은 그녀 스스로 이렇게 말하고 있다..

"when I was young, I would always sing along with the radio or my mom's old albums, like Olivia Newton John and others".

고등학교를 중도에 그만둔.. 그녀는 Vietnamese Student Association (V.S.A)라는 곳에 입학하게 되며.. 그녀가 가수로서 길을 걷을수 있는 기회를 이때쯤 얻게 된다. 1997년 7월 Asia Entertainment 라는 곳에 데모 테잎을 보내게 되는 기회를 얻게 되며..그녀는 오디션을 통해 잠재되어 있는 가능성을 평가 받게 되어.. 그이후로 얼마 안 있어 Asia Entertainment 측과 독점적인 계약을 하게 되면서 부터 그녀의 삶은 달라지게 된다.
